Abstract

Dictionary “Russian-Circassian” L. Lulye – the first printed lexicographic work on the Adyghe language. This work introduces us not only to the vocabulary of the Adyghe language of the last century. Lulye contributed to the compilation of the alphabet and grammar of the Adyghe language. The words of the Shapsug dialect and their forms occupy a certain place in the dictionary. This is the first work that reflects not only the lexical richness of the unwritten Adyghe language, but also helps to trace the state of the Adyghe language of the first half of the XIX century.
